NodeScope is an unofficial, read-only companion app for CoreScope, the mesh network analyzer used by MeshTexas and other MeshCore communities. This policy explains what data NodeScope accesses and how it's handled.
NodeScope has no servers, accounts, or sign-in. It's a client that connects directly, from your device, to whatever CoreScope analyzer host you configure in Settings.
Everything you see in NodeScope — nodes, packet traffic, channel messages, and observer data — comes from the CoreScope analyzer host you choose to connect to, over that server's own public API and WebSocket feed. We do not operate that server (unless you've chosen one that MeshTexas operates) and do not receive a copy of this data. If you connect to a third-party analyzer host, that host's own operator may log requests according to their own practices — check with them directly if you have questions about a specific host.
If you grant permission, NodeScope uses your device's location, only while the app is open, to center the map on your current position. This location is never transmitted anywhere — not to an analyzer host, not to MeshTexas, not to any third party — and is not stored beyond the moment it's used to move the map.
If you choose to monitor a private, key-protected channel, the channel's name and decryption key (either one you enter or one NodeScope generates for you) are stored only in your device's Keychain, protected by iOS and accessible only to NodeScope on that device. This key is used solely to decrypt messages locally on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Your configured analyzer host, region filter, display preferences, and onboarding status are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us or anyone else.
NodeScope contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs of any kind, and collects no personal information.
NodeScope is not directed at children, and collects no personal data from anyone regardless of age.
